Sample Journal Post

Events

Today was a fantastic day. I got up this morning at 5:10 a.m. I looked on the internet to locate the weather forecast. Then I went into the kitchen to cook some rice. While the rice was cooking, I went back to the computer and read an online devotion and checked my email. While I was sleeping, someone tried to call my on my internet telephone. There was no time to return the call, so I wrote a few emails and then decided to shower. In the bathroom, I noticed that my hair is getting lodfsdng. If I got my hair cut, then it would be much more comfortable. At school later in the day, some students were speaking Korean and I was disappointed. However, I got to teach one of Mrs. Brown's classes because she was traveling to India. Also, my students began to make their own blogs. This was quite exciting! Overall, it was a terrific day.

Emotions

I can remember 3 distinct feelings I had today. First, I was a little sad when I noticed my family called me during the night. I miss them very much. Also, I was angry during the school day when I heard students speaking Korea. I am not sure why their actions disappoint me, but they do! Third, I remember feeling anxious when my Bible class were not listening to our lesson. I really want them to study carefully.

Education

What life lesson can I learn from the events of today? Most of all, I think that I can learn to be very thankful for my caring family. I can learn how to communicate with them better and keep them informed even when it is difficult because they live so far away. Additionally, I can learn to be more patient with my students. I want to learn a strategy to help them not speak Korean at our school.
